The number of enterprise architects certified for the TOGAF\u00ae 9 standard from the Open Group has now\u00a0passed the\u00a0100,000\u00a0milestone<\/a>.<\/h6>\n

This includes professionals from 149 countries. Countries with high growth rates in certifications included India, France, UK and Singapore.<\/p>\n

TOGAF is a globally recognized\u00a0set of\u00a0methodologies for managing systems and processes in large enterprises. It is\u00a0managed\u00a0by The Open Group, with two levels of certifications TOGAF 9 Foundation Level 1 and Level 2 certification.\u00a0The TOGAF\u00a0Certification Program\u00a0includes accredited training courses\u00a0and exams.<\/p>\n

Avolution\u2019s\u00a0Dr Tim O\u2019Neill, an enterprise architect\u00a0who has worked with the TOGAF standard for over 10 years\u00a0said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn current market conditions, more than ever, architects\u00a0need\u00a0to\u00a0move quickly to\u00a0provide day-to-day and week-to-week data-driven advice,\u00a0roadmaps\u00a0and strategic planning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe popularity of frameworks is partly down to the huge increase in data, technology and business processes needed to run a modern enterprise.\u00a0Frameworks can be a real accelerant when they provide patterns, terminology and deliverables which can\u00a0avoid\u00a0\u201cstart-from-scratch\u201d delays.<\/p>\n

\u201cTOGAF provides both a starting point and\u00a0building blocks\u00a0for architects.\u00a0It includes\u00a0standards which\u00a0help\u00a0describe, progress and communicate about systems and business outcomes in large enterprises.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome architects choose to\u00a0use\u00a0the\u00a0step-by-step approach\u00a0provided in the\u00a0TOGAF\u00a0Architecture Development Method quite closely.<\/p>\n

“But TOGAF\u2019s recognition of \u201cagile\u201d approaches also allows a more selective approach. It\u2019s also increasingly popular to combine TOGAF concepts with other domain- or industry-specific frameworks such as BIAN for banking and finance, APQC for insurance or SABSA for cybersecurity.\u00a0Frameworks are most effective when they adapt to the business\u00a0and to the\u00a0priorities\u00a0of the architects using them.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Architects can also accelerate their use of TOGAF with a tool certified to support the\u00a0latest version of the\u00a0framework<\/a>,\u00a0such\u00a0as\u00a0Avolution\u2019s\u00a0ABACUS. Architects often choose to combine the\u00a0guiding methodology of TOGAF for\u00a0modeling\u00a0the Business, Application, Data and Technology levels of the enterprise with data-driven and agile methodologies also available in\u00a0ABACUS*.<\/p>\n
