Avolution, the market leader in metrics-based analysis of architectures, today announced that the latest release of its enterprise modelling tool, ABACUS, has been certified to support The Open Group’s Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Version 9 (including version 9.1 and 9.2).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ABACUS 4.0 and later releases are certified to support TOGAF 9 (including version 9.1 and 9.2)
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

TOGAF is a framework for the design, planning, implementation and governance of an enterprise architecture, enabling modeling and analysis of Business, Application, Data and Technology levels of an enterprise.\u00a0 Extending Avolution\u2019s existing certification to TOGAF 8 (including version 8.1), ABACUS 4.0\u2019s support of the new TOGAF 9, 9.1 and 9.2 standards, and formal certification, is based on \u2018out-of-the-box\u2019 functionality conformance with 100% of the Architecture Content Framework requirements, including all the entities, relationships, attributes, artifacts\/views and deliverables of\u00a0TOGAF 9 and 9.1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough its certification from The Open Group, Avolution can provide customers with assurance that ABACUS conforms to industry best-practice open standards\u201d said Avolution’s Dr Tim O’Neill. \u201cThis means that organisations needing to base their Enterprise or Solution Architectures on TOGAF can use ABACUS, as well as Avolution’s training, professional services and partners.<\/p>\n

In addition to TOGAF, ABACUS also supports a wide range of other\u00a0frameworks and notations<\/a>, including;\u00a0ArchiMate<\/a>, DoDAF, MoDAF, FEAF, PEAF,\u00a0BPMN<\/a>\u00a0and UML. Practitioners can create or customize metamodels easily using ‘right-clicks’ or \u2018drag-and-drops\u2019 in the ABACUS user interface.<\/p>\n
